LEOPARD 40: a fascinating and elegant catamaran

The Leopard 40, the latest blue water cruising model from Leopard Catamarans, was shown to the US public for the first time at the Miami Boat Show 2015. With a number of design innovations, the boat looks set to earn a good number of admirers.

The Leopard 40 is billed as a larger hull than earlier models in the series, but retains their manoeuvrability. Already, many people have began to tout the Leopard 40 as offering the best of both worlds when it comes to catamaran design.

The cosmetic aspect of the design

Some design elements have been carried over from previous Leopard models. Such as a layout with three to four cabins and two heads. These heads are as luxurious as ever, with showers and flushing toilets included. There have been some notable changes as well, however.

Amongst other things, the design of the Leopard 40 boasts a better view than earlier models. The dining area has been relocated aft, so that the galley can be moved forward. An enlarged window not only allows greater visibility, it also enhances ventilation throughout the vessel.

More cosmetic aspects of the design, such as its colour scheme, have also been winning praise. The interior of the catamaran is light blonde, with accents of light cream. Wooden fixtures are made primarily from Alabaster oak and Grey King Tree.models. The dining area has been relocated aft, so that the galley can be moved forward. An enlarged window not only allows greater visibility, it also enhances ventilation throughout the vessel.

The Leopard 40 was designed by the renowned boat-builders of Robertson and Caine. John

Robertson, co-founder of this South African company, hails the catamaran as “the final step in our complete Leopard model range ». Robertson emphasises the panoramic views that are offered by the new seating and window arrangements of the latest catamaran model.

The Leopard Catamarans: soon in Europe!

The new Leopard 40 model is scheduled to be entered into the Moorings Yacht Ownership program as the Moorings 4000 this year. It is also scheduled to be displayed at the International Multihull boat show in France in April alongside three other Leopard makes: the Leopard 44, Leopard 48 and Leopard 51 PC. Here, catamaran admirers will be able to meet the staff of Leopard Catamarans. They will learn more about these fascinating and elegant vessels.
